Kindergarten Catherine Rayner inspired Bunnies

This week, Kindergarten started their Catherine Rayner inspired bunny! We did a directed drawing and then the students practiced their watercolor skills to fill in their beautiful little bunnies with color!
Catherine Rayner is an author and illustrator, and writes the cutest children's books!
Here's a link to her website, where you can check out her books and see her very lovely illustrations.
Here's her painting. I just love it!

This project just took the kindergartners one 45 minute class to complete. First, I introduced them to Ms. Rayner, her art, and talked about where she is from. Then, we read the book she wrote titled, Harris Finds His Feet
I started with the nose and we worked our way out from there! After they drew them with a pencil, we traced them with a Sharpie, and painted them with my leftover black and brown Prang watercolors. I had previously popped those colors out, and put them in a pallet together.

Here are some sweet kinders hard at work, making their beautiful bunnies!
Mrs. Placha's class did such a good job yesterday!
