2nd Grade is working on their line circles, that were inspired by the book, The Dot, by Peter Reynolds. September 15th was National Dot day, so we celebrated it by creating these wonderful works of art!
Here's how we created these works of art!
We discussed the Element of Art, Line, and talked about all the different types of lines we could add in our circle.After they drew them, they traced them with a marker, and started painting in the shapes that were created when the lines intersected. I reminded them that we used 3 elements of art, LINE, SHAPE, & COLOR! After they finished painting their circles,they cut them out, and splattered their background with paint!
