Yayoi Kusama inspired 2nd grade pupmkins

Today, 2nd grade started their Yayoi Kusama inspired pumpkins! This project was inspired by the art teachers, Lauralee Chambers and Mrs. Lewis. I saw their examples on Instagram, and had to try it with my students! Here's how we made them!
Materials:
Spray bottle

Day 1: Introduce them to the art of  Yayoi Kusama. The Tate Museum has a great page for kids, introducing her and her work! You can find that page here!  Here's a good video showing her infinity rooms, and examples of her other art too. After I show these to my students, we'll get to work drawing our own polka dot pumpkin.
Here's a how to draw video I made for my students!

Here's a time lapse video I made of all the dots!

After they draw the dots, they will color a paper sized piece of aluminum foil, with washable crayola markers. I colored mine in rainbow order, starting with yellow for a nice highlight effect.
Sorry I didn't take a picture of this yet! I will!

Here's what happens after you color the foil with watercolor markers, and lay it on top of the wet paper you spray!

They were so excited with the results!

Here's what we have so far!

UPDATE!
So, here's what I did this year. We can't share supplies, so I made a construction paper version. The complete how to video is here!
