2nd grade created these owls out of painted paper we made on the first day of art! I saw these on the Painted Paper Art blog, and had to try them with our students!
The first day, we created our backgrounds by gluing on our limbs and leaves, and drawing stars and a moon with our oil pastels.
The second day, they traced their shapes on the back of painted paper, and assembled them onto their background. When their owls were glued down, they added a more interesting texture to the bird, by using oil pastels!
As you can see, they did a great job!
