Night of the Arts 2026

🎨 Night of the Arts

Our Night of the Arts was a huge success! We had an amazing turnout, and it was so special to see our school community come together to celebrate creativity.

The hallways were filled with beautiful student artwork, proudly displayed for families to enjoy. Our students were beaming with excitement as they shared their creations and showed off all their hard work.

Families had the chance to stop by the photobooth, take pictures with Roary our mascot, explore the instrument petting zoo, and enjoy wonderful dance and choir performances. There was something for everyone, and the energy throughout the building was truly unforgettable.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support our students and the arts. It was a night full of creativity, joy, and school pride! 🐾

Back to School! Collaborative Mural

WE'RE BACK! Seems like just a few days ago, I was posting about the end of the school year! I don't know about y'all, but Summer just flew by! It was so wonderful to spend all Summer with my sweet babies, and I'm missing them something fierce, but my "babies" at school are making the transition a little easier!
We have been priming rocks for our rock garden, but while we're waiting for more supplies to come in, we got started on a new project! (That's the life of an art teacher, y'all!) You've got to be flexible, and just roll with it!
I found this project last year, while scoping the web for some new fun things for our kids to do. His site is called Shine Brite Zamorano, and he's an art teacher based in California (Their art teacher of the year to boot!) I also saw posts about this from the Tennessee Arts Academy, and thought, "It's time to try it out!". Thanks for the inspiration and sharing your awesome program!

Here's how we created our own version! I'm going to do this with 3rd-5th. This should take about a day to do! Great project to kick off the start of the school year, and have a beautiful mural to display when they're done!

Night of the Arts!

Night of the Arts! (NOTA)

This is my biggest night of the year, folks! We work hard all year long to make this night happen. All the countless hours of planning, working, drawing, coloring, painting, cutting, gluing....the list goes on and on...are all worth it, on this night! Hearing the excitement in the halls, seeing the kids' faces light up when they see their art, just make me love me job more and more. It fills the school with an explosion of color and a sense of pride, that just makes my heart happy y'all.
A big thank you to the teachers who helped me mat artwork!! A big thank you to ALL my teachers for hanging their artwork!  (I mat the art and they hang the art y'all)! I'm so thankful for each and every one of you! A big shout out to Mrs. Hadley for helping to coordinate the awesome illustrator, Michael P. White's visit. That was so fun! & last but not least, giant shout out to the other half of my ARTS team, Mrs. Rives, for putting up with me, AND on an amazing show with our 4th graders and Bengal Pack. Y'all ROCK!!

Here's some photos from tonight's festivities. Hope you enjoy!
(Btw, each teacher hangs their art outside their door, so our art is all throughout the school. It’s not consolidated in one place, so sorry for the long, horizontal class shots!) 😊

4th and 5th Collaborative Geometric Mural

Around here, we are getting ready for our annual art show, Night of the Arts! We've been passing out art, trying to finish art, choosing our art that will be hung for the show, AND starting new projects all at the same time! State testing has started as well! WHEW! I get tired just thinking about it!! haha

Here's a small example of what 4th and 5th will be starting this week. We will be creating a giant mural to hang for NOTA, that is inspired by California's Elementary Visual Arts Educator of the Year! He has their beautiful example, full how to, and a lot of other amazing art on his website Shine Brite Zamorano

Here's how we created ours
