Last week, 5th Grade started their Foil Pattern Dots, inspired by the book, The Dot! September 15th was National Dot Day, and we celebrated by making these fun, foil "dots" inspired yet again by the fabulous Cassie Stephens! The main tag line of The Dot is, "Make a mark and see where it takes you." Sometimes that can be a hard thing to do, but if you never try, you'll never know what you're capable of!
Here's how we created ours!
We started off with a cardboard circle, put glue all over the top with glue sticks, and glued aluminum foil to the top, and folded the edges down to the back and glued them there. After their foil was glued down, they drew circles and designs with a dull pencil. After their designs were complete, they used Sharpies to color their creation! This took about 2 45 minute classes to complete.
These 5th graders have been making many unique marks, and are off to a good start! Mrs. Stacey is proud of you!!
