Woohooo!! "School's out for the summa!! School's out foreva" Well, not really, but at least we get a couple of months to do what we want! After working hard all year, you deserve to treat yourself! I found some really cool art teacherin' finds on Amazon, and I thought you all would enjoy them too! I'll be on the lookout for some more, so check back and the list could be longer!
I hope you all have a fabulous summer vacay, and I look forward to hearing from and seeing you all in the fall!
Stay safe, and God bless!!
Love, Mrs. Stacey!

Kindergarten Symmetrical Monarch Butterflies

For the last couple weeks of school, Kindergarten has been working on their color mixing,  and their Monarch butterflies!
Here's how we made them!

5th grade All About Me Collage

This project is actually from the beginning of the year, but we just now finished it at the end, right before night of the arts! It was definitely a learning experience, and evolved from my first vision of what the project was going to look like. I wanted to do something like I did in my freshman Art I class, with Mrs. Elliott in high school (about 21 years ago!). In Mrs. Elliott's class, we did a collage with magazine clippings, of things that represented us, and we colored the background with markers or colored pencils.
 Here's how we create ours!

Surprise Creatures For the LAST ART DAY!

It's that time of year, when the art show is complete, and each class has about 1 more visit to the art room! What do you do for one class for 45 minutes?? Here's what we're doing! I found this neat little project on Instagram, from @Mrs_lynes_artists & @artwithmrs.e, and I wanted to try it out with my students as well! I'm going to try this with every grade except K & 5th. 5th could totally do this, but they have rocks to paint!

As of now, 1st is going to do aliens, 2nd is going to do fish, 3rd can choose a trickier animal or person, and same goes for 4th.

Here are some little short videos, showing how we created ours!

Night of the Arts!

Night of the Arts! (NOTA)

This is my biggest night of the year, folks! We work hard all year long to make this night happen. All the countless hours of planning, working, drawing, coloring, painting, cutting, gluing....the list goes on and on...are all worth it, on this night! Hearing the excitement in the halls, seeing the kids' faces light up when they see their art, just make me love me job more and more. It fills the school with an explosion of color and a sense of pride, that just makes my heart happy y'all.
A big thank you to the teachers who helped me mat artwork!! A big thank you to ALL my teachers for hanging their artwork!  (I mat the art and they hang the art y'all)! I'm so thankful for each and every one of you! A big shout out to Mrs. Hadley for helping to coordinate the awesome illustrator, Michael P. White's visit. That was so fun! & last but not least, giant shout out to the other half of my ARTS team, Mrs. Rives, for putting up with me, AND on an amazing show with our 4th graders and Bengal Pack. Y'all ROCK!!

Here's some photos from tonight's festivities. Hope you enjoy!
(Btw, each teacher hangs their art outside their door, so our art is all throughout the school. It’s not consolidated in one place, so sorry for the long, horizontal class shots!) 😊

Mother's Day Picasso Inspired Bouquets

It's finally warm and sunny, and we're finally done with testing!! HOOORAAAYY!! We have the beautiful outdoors, Spring/Summer, and Mother's Day on our minds right now! Why not mix a little Picasso in there too? You could do this with any grade, but I chose to try it with 3rd grade this week. It only took one 45 minute class!
Here's how we created our own.
