1st grade Rainbow Rockets

Last week, our young artists had a blast creating these rocket-themed masterpieces while exploring line, pattern, and color blending! This project inspired by @Ms.tice_is_nice (Alyssa Tice), combines bold drawing with vibrant color s for a result that really pops.

✏️ What We Learned

Students focused on:

• Types of lines (zig-zag, curved, spiral, scalloped)
• Pattern and repetition
• Warm and cool colors
• What happens when the colors get wet and blend together

We talked about how lines can show movement and energy, just like a rocket zooming through space!

Colorful Kindergarten Rainbows

Last week, Kindergarten was finishing their rainbows, inspired by the art teacher, Hillary Green.

1st grade Rainbow Cloud Weavings

This week, 1st grade is learning how to weave, and reviewing the order of the rainbow! We were inspired by the awesome art teacher, Olivia Gay, and wanted to try it out for ourselves! You can check out all the cool stuff she does on her art teacher instagram account!

Kindergarten rainbow paintings

For the past couple of weeks, kindergarten has been working on this precious little piece of art! I got this adorable idea, yet again, from the fabulous art teacher, Cassie Stephens. Click on her name to get a little sample of her amazing art teacherin' talent! 

Earlier in the year, we made a cute little cloud with rainbow paper, so this lesson is a review on rainbow order, and works on all kinds of other skills!!

Kindergarten ROY G BIV clouds

This week and the next, kindergarten will be working on their ROY G BIV rainbow clouds! Even though this may look pretty simple, it's tricky for some of my friends who have hardly held a pencil, marker, or scissors before! 

I found this fun idea on Lauralee Chambers' Instagram account, and decided to try it with our little ones!
