Back to school!

Here we are again! Year 22 over here! We’re through with rules and procedures, (I went over them 36 times….6 classes on a 6 day rotation, shew!) so now we can focus on some art!

Side note- this helped tremendously with 3-5, going over where things are in the new art room (yes they moved me again, and thank goodness it’s not a portable) This is a scavenger hunt the big kids did, that another art teacher in the district shared and it was a hit!

Here’s what we’re working on this week!

And I found this project I did about 15 years ago, at least 😆 but we’re trying it again!

Here’s some great examples from some of our students!

4th grade Yayoi Kusama Pumkin Collage

This fall, 4th grade created some Yayoi Kusama inspired pumpkin collages!

I taught this to 4th grade, and then dressed up as Yayoi Kusama for storybook character day. It was fun seeing the 4th graders light up and recognize who I was when I walked through the halls, that day!

We studied the art of Kusama, learned about her career and life from this Tate Museum video.

Here's what supplies you need

Then I demonstrated how to create our own!

If you want to participate in International Dot Day, visit this link. I was originally inspired by his book, and @MsRogersArtClass on Instagram. Check out her cool projects, by clicking on her name!
