Kindergarten & First Fall "Y trees"

Kindergarten Fall "Y trees"

Kindergarten has been learning how to make a tree with branches, which can be a tricky thing for a 5 year old!
I make it easier for them by using a trick I was taught during student teaching, a mere 14 years ago! (wow!)

They are called Y trees, because they are made out of Y's. Every time you add a new branch, you add a "V" on the end of it to turn it into a "Y"!

We drew out our trees with a pencil, traced them with a brown oil pastel, and used watercolors to paint the leaves. We used WARM colors (red, orange, & yellow) to paint the leaves and the Cool color, green, to paint the ground.

Here are some cute Kinder examples!
