I'm LOVING the fall projects we've been working on! The students are doing a GrrrrrEAT job! Mrs. Stacey is so very proud of all their hard work, perseverance, and creativity that they have been applying to their awesome art!
Kindergarten has been making the cutest pumpkins in the patch, and using so many artistic skills in the process! (painting, drawing, cutting, gluing) These may look simple, but they're a challenge for these little 5/6 year olds! Check out their art in the K pumpkin post!
1st Grade- Just started their overlapping pumpkins. Trying to make our pumpkins look round and making our curved lines in the right direction is a challenge as well, but they are off to a good start! Next time, we'll add some fun expressions to our pumpkins! Stay tuned for their post!
2nd Grade- Is learning about so much in one little picture! We are learning about the artist Vincent Van Gogh, and his very famous painting, Starry Night. We are using our drawing skills, coloring skills, and painting skills to create our picture! We are also discussing the Element of Art, VALUE, when we paint our pumpkins by adding highlights and shadows to them. They're doing beautifully! More art will be added to the 2nd grade post, as they complete them!
3rd Grade-Students are learning about the Mexican holiday, Dia de los Muertos, and we are creating art inspired by this time of year. Learning about countries and other cultures is an important art standard, and we get to create beautiful art in the process!
4th Grade-Is just starting their spooky nighttime paintings and will be learning about the element of art, VALUE, as well. We will be mixing white and black with our background colors to create light and dark versions of that color. Then we will add a tree and other details, when our backgrounds dry! Stay tuned for their art!
5th Grade- Just started their printmaking project! Printmaking is like creating a stamp, and stamping that image over and over again. We are incorporating a sugar skull into our art, and learning about Dia de los muertos as well.
